Shows a Lenovo T400 playing Crysis using onboard graphics and then the newly released ViDock 2 which utilizes a standard desktop ATI 4670 graphics card. This graphics card connects to the computer over ExpressCard and allows you to beef up a standard business class machine (or an aging laptop) enough to play cutting edge games. This video was chopped from over 20 minutes down to just under 10. Enjoy and please leave feedback.
can you buy it at any other places? like best buy or something? i want one
to PCMCIA
what slot does the vidock go into?
nope. vidock needs to directly connect to an output.
can u swap the video card out of the adapter?
so i HAVE to plug the ViDock2 in to a monitor?
i cant use the laptops screen?
Yes, you need a additional monitor to get it work.
i have the sony vaio VGN NR38E with the GMA X3100 (GM965) could i use the same dock as you well? and could you tell me where to get one for the UK? thanks, your help is greatly appreciated.
you have a very nice voice.
Wait, so you need 2 screens for this thing to work?
Maybe. Maybe not. And btw I am talking about Mass Effect 2. Thanks for reply, but that doesn’t answer my question about compatibility.
Still very Incompatible My lap aint got an Xpress slot) , and the fact that you need an extra screen really fucks things up, however, Im glad that you´ll be able to play the latest games w/ ur lappy
@11thirtyfour
you dont need the vidock to play mass effect you can run it right off you laptop from stock
I have HP Compaq 6735b laptop; ADM Athlon(tm)X2 DualCore QL-60 1,90 GHz; 4GB RAM; Windows Vista; ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics;
Will ViDock be compatible with my system? And off topic – will I, be able to run Mass Effect 2 on this set up, and at what detail will be able to run ME2 with ViDock (if compatible), provided that FPS doesn’t go below ~30(+-)?
Please answer.
Thanks in advance
Such a huge breakthrough in laptop technology, I’m getting one for Christmas!
Though just to check, does anyone know if this works with the Toshiba Satellite L305?
According to the compatibility list for the ViDock Gfx it does, but it may (Probably not) have stopped working with the model after the upgrade to ViDock 2
wow that really makes a huge difference is do you have to use another monitor or can you just plug it in and use your laptop monitor?
nothing pal^^
yes,you must have an extra Screen:/
also an Express card Slot..
(PCMCIA)
as far as i know
@valcamas

Haha.
Yeah, I guess.
Maybe get it for Christmas ?
Also, do you NEED to have another monitor to use it ?
Thanks for all the help.
sorry pal..
i dont know..
a solution is windows 7
@valcamas
Damn…
I have Vista, with an Nvidia GeForce 9200M GE!
haha.
That sucks…
Any alternatives that work with nvidia ?
as long as you have an express card
and windows 7^^ or vista with an Ati card.
and Xp but not so great as Windows 7..
plus an extra tv screen
Are these compatible with an HP G70 laptop ?
Thanks.
but i think you do need a second tft or something.
same questions as him, reply please
Sucks for me, my laptop is a Dell E1505. I would love to get this for my laptop so i could play Left4dead at max settings, but unfortunately the ViDock is not compatible with my laptop.
Since my laptop can only handle 2gb of RAM, and i’m running Win XP, my laptop wouldn’t be able to allocate enough resources for the ViDock to work properly. Ugh, such is life i suppose.
