All we’ve seen is the art DIRECTION. We have not seen the full potential of the graphics this game will have yet. They said they would vastly improve it over the rest of the year, and I believe them. It’s too early to hate on this game anyway, especially for the graphics. If you dislike the style, then okay. But attacking the current quality of the style of the graphics is just being a douche (unless you didn’t hear about Nintendo working on them for the rest of the year)
I love the graphics. In my reaction video to the press conference you can see how excited I was.
And you have thought it out perfectly, this artstyle future proofs the game graphically like WW’s graphics do. Unlike games like OoT which looks dated, and while TP still looks ok now, one day it will feel dated graphically.
I’m okay with the graphics. Like you said, it’s Nintendo making the best of what technology they have available with the Wii. It’s the exact same reason why Mario Galaxy looks so nice.
I really didn’t understand the graphical direction Nintendo was going for with Skyward sword until I saw the screenshot, with Link and two deku babas, where objects in the distance blurred in such a way to look like a real impressionist painting. If the rest of the game looks like this it will be amazing.
im perfectly fine with the graphics, i got over them when i told my self “dude!!! its a new LoZ, be happy!!! its been almost 4 years since the last console LoZ!!” then i learneed to love it so now i do
nothing is wrong with the graphics now. its just that the gaming marking went to the realistic graphics instead of the cell shaded graphics. so now wen we get a cell shaded game we think it sucks. imagine if the market would have gone for cell shading, we would think that realistic graphics sucked
my older bro keeps saying “their gonna ruin zelda, not as good, only 8 items, beetle sucks, replacing the hookshot, wii motion plus is gimicky”, etc. now I get where hes coming from, and I’m not a HUGE fan of the graphics, and we could have used more items in the demo, but like you said, I’m gonna give it a chance. even if its not the best zelda to date, their not going to screw it up. Its nintendo guys, come on! have they ever REALLY let us zelda fans down?
Its gonna take time to adjust to the pastel colouring of this game. Im personaly not a fan of it ye. nintendo said it looks like a painting come to life. Im just not seeing it. I think a game like okami looks like a painting come to life. This zelda game doesnt really look like a painting come to life at all. It doesnt look that close to the art/artist that inspired it. But im sure we will all adjust and grow to love the game.
and also, could be the lighting, but you look pasty white to me
When I first saw Skyward Sword I was very disappointed about the graphical style, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t think the gameplay looked awesome. I would no doubt buy it and enjoy it. There’s no way I would judge the game just for it’s graphics. But I’ve gotten used to the graphics and I think it looks nice and could look a lot better as long as they polish.
I’m really looking forward to being able to play this game. Many people may think the graphics are more for little kids, but it’s not the graphics that makes the game. It’s the storyline and characters.
Besides, I love Wind Waker, I love Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess, Oracle of Seasons/Ages — no matter what the graphics are like, I love the games. Not for how they look, but for the content.
Good graphics are a plus, they’re appealing to the eye, but it’s what’s inside that truly matters.
I don’t get why everyone whines about the graphics, I think they look great, even though I was initially hoping for a more mature style.
And seriously, if you are a TRUE Zelda fan, you’ll play the game regardless of the graphics. It’s the game play and the whole Zelda experience that I’m looking towards. :]
I actually enjoy these graphics more than any previous zelda title. I like the cel shaded style and the storyline of SS appears to be really good. i think this will be my new favorite zelda game (MM is currently my fav).
@RandomlineProduction that you dont care about the graphics. to many people are absorbed in graphics that they cant see a good game if it kicked them in the ballz
i kinda think that its a link befor oot. they confermed that the skyward sword becomes the master sword. thus, it would have to be befor it. atleast in my time line, in anyone elses, it should be befor oot though
I like the graphics in SS. Its like WW but grown up

lol fer kids
WW is one of the darkest fucking games I’ve ever played. Yet its art style clashes with the themes going on so much, I actually really love that.

@RandomlineProduction no problem!

@qwertlolo That’s what I thought thanks man!
the graphics are fine

nintendo knows how to make a game with gameplay not graphics as along as its fun i personally have no fucking problem

i think PH, & ST sucked, they were too easy, WW looks the same way
but since this is actually an infusion of both TP graphics, WW graphics, and gives me the same feel OoT gave me, im willin to give this a chance ^_^
you look like someone from ocarina of time/majoras mask, i like you.
I want to plug your butt with my fat toe.
Skyward Sword Graphics > Twilight Princess Graphics
Wind Waker Graphics > Twilight Princess Graphics

fucker!

@qwertlolo OK What makes me so awesome?
