With a new graphics card comes another upgrade video! If you’ve seen my most recent unboxing video then you already know that I purchased the ATI Radeon HD 3870 for my Mac Pro. Since my NVIDIA 7300 GT crapped out on me, for the second time in just a few months, I decided to go for a whole new card. So sit back, relax and enjoy the upgrade process. Thanks for watching!

Macs look cool and sleek. but i think the cases are poorly designed for gaming, or high multimedia use.. There isn’t enough ventilation IMO to exhaust the heat. especially in mac books.

Wrong. It depends on the distro. Unlike other os’s, you have to find the one that suits your needs.

creativeone why dont you just boot into single user mode or safe boot instead of verbose mode. In fact before doing that try resetting the smc, pmu, and clear the pram. You might have better luck getting it to boot.
it’s verbose mode and it is different than safe mode as is single user mode on a mac. READ up and do a bit of studying before you post senseless comments.
you should have gotten the new nVidia, sold it and used it towards your ATi. Just saying.
i have an XPS 210 with a x1300 ATi Radeon. the problem with this piece of shit design is its to thin and so the card i have is the best and only card i cant get (? maybe?)

After a day of using, Ive noticed that it’s so noisy . . . is this normal and is there a remedy for that?
Many thanks for the detailed installation guide. My monitor was not turning on, so I couldn’t even access the install guide on the CD. . . not to mention I got nervous when I saw all those cable, but luckily only needed one. You’re a LIFESAVER!
Good job, glad to see a macfag who actually looks into his computer, finds out what’s wrong, and fixes the problem instead of just buying a new one or taking it to the mac store.
