ARMA II and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising comparing graphics. Both where shot in the same time of day and in the same direction according to the compass. There are problems with Fraps and OFPDR so I used xfire to record videos and Fraps for ARMA II. Xfire doesn’t record at a high bit rate compared to Fraps so the videos for OFP:DR will be choppy. My set up may not be the best for comparison videos.
@RANGERmw2
It’s funny looking at all these comments focusing on just the graphics…This sums up the types of gamers here…graphics graphics graphics lol. After it taking me the last couple of years to really get to grpis with all the scripting/modding with ARMA…I couldn’t play any other shooter….
Know that mate. They are different types of games though. If your heavy on scripting/modding and REAL simulation then ARMA2 has no match
Flashpoint has better lighting and a lot less frame rate issues. Ive actualy never had a single time where opf2 frame rate went below 30fps, where as Arma would often go below 25fps.
ARMA 2 IS THE BEST
I bought this OPF DR and am so regret ! bad animation
the one thing dr has over arma 2 (in this vid) is muzzle flash and reload sequence
In opfdr we are in a china island its normal the color are tropical (yellow /green) and then opfdr is a HD game the wapon shoot is better more realistic
Arma 2 Enviroment looks better along with vehicle operation and look’s But OFP DR’s Model’s (Characters, AI, Pretty much all the humans if your retarded) Looks better along with the animatons.
Excellent comparison video! 5/5
Dragon Rising looks horrible, though! Arma II definitely wins. It’s like comparing Sanyo to a Sony.
opf dragon rising is the victor!
i have arma 2 and i think that its a lot of better than Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising …… Arma 2 just looks more realistic…
the best is operation flash point cold war crisis and red hammer and resistance.Three of the best games ever???
gameplay wise what should i but. OPFDR or Arma?
nah, developers sucked at optimizing for general use..
even if i had all the flash computer gear i still would not run this game on max. This game is way better with better performance.
nah man, Arma 2 looks amazing. Way ahead of its time. Its just a shame its too fckin hard out for anyones computer.
at 9:46 he can take as many bullets as 50 cent
Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising WINS!!!!!! :/
nice
My specs are: q8200 2.33 Ghz, 8 GB drr2, gtx295, and an 850 watt corsair PSU. Everything is factory clocked (i think the cpu is underclocked). i’m waiting on a new mobo, case and cpu cooler so it may even jack up the fps.
for sure. I now have everything set to very high, with the exception of video memory and object detail. I have objects set to high, and video memory set to default because I’m running a gtx295 and it’s vram is higher than 512 (which is what very high gives you). I have my view distance at 1229 and the res is 1400X900 (native). and that’s in both res and 3d res. Another HUGE setting is changing the view style to 5:4 TFT becasue it decreases the screen width but increases performence
oh really? maybe i should consider getting windows 7.
I know mate, I was just supporting your opinion. Here’s something crazy: I was running arma 2 at 34 fps before I upgraded to Windows 7 today, and now, with the same exact settings as before, I’m running it at 55 fps.
oh i wasnt saying that i was saying that OF:dragon risings graphics couldnt compare to arma 2s graphics because they were so lifelike.
@yipyipmingow
the difference between arma 2 at high vs very high is astounding. Arma 2 set to max setting and tweaked properly is the most detailed and realistic sim I’ve ever played… and I’m not one of these momma’s basement gamers. I can’t play crysis or mw2 because it looks flashy… I’m actually in the military
ofp2’s graphics cant compare to arma 2. arma 2s graphics settings. ArmA 2 will always be better
